I don’t want to get nexted, so this is my last ChatRoulette post
I swear, just one more post about ChatRoulette! This one contains a couple of videos.
But first, I have to report that everyone’s favorite anonomoys webcam chat site entered a new word into our online lexicon! According to the Urban Dictionary, getting “Nexted” is:
Usually on Chatroulette, a new random stranger chat site, when someone clicks the “next” button almost instantly after seeing your face or webcam. The most common nexted individuals are males. [Link]
The Urban Dictionary goes on to say that this term actually started with the MTV show NEXT, but I’m not an MTV watcher.
And to show you some people who made videos about getting Nexted, I have two short web documentaries about ChatRoulette. Some people who, like me, are interested in how ChatRoulette social dynamics, and unlike me, have lots of time and superior video editing skills, made these two videos that basically say the same thing, but in different ways. In any case, they’re both worth a look.
It is pretty uncanny how this kid looks like Harry Potter, isn’t it?
